A Family Celebration

With my next grandson due to be born in May, today family and friends went to my daughter’s home where her baby shower was held.

‘Twas yet another day of mist and rain, although it only sprinkled for most of the afternoon.

Soon-to-be a big sister, Aurora, had a great time playing with her cousins and friends, (and sampling yummy treats!)

As for me, I had the opportunity to spend some time with my youngest – for now – grandson. ❤

So no mountain photo today, basically because I didn’t sight the mountain. The mist and low cloud has been thicker than usual lately and it’s becoming a rare event to see the mountain at all.

Further south along the coast of New South Wales, torrential rain has forced several communities to evacuate. My sister sent me a photo this morning of a field across the road from her home, which usually has cows happily munching on green grass roaming around. Today, the field is so flooded that it looks like she is living on waterfront property. She said she’s seen the water this high before, so isn’t concerned. A sight she hadn’t seen before, however, was a house floating through the “cow field” which had been uprooted from its foundations! A very sad situation it was for the poor owner of the house.

Tess’s Azalea

Instead of posting another photo of a grey valley, grey sky, and a patch of white where Mount Warning should be in full view, I thought today I would share recent photos of “Tess’s Azalea”.

Our family was blessed to share eleven years of Tess’s life, a faithful friend who brought indescribable joy to our lives.

Eleven is a good age for a Rottweiler. That’s my logical brain – my common sense – talking. Emotionally, I felt wrecked after she left us.

Tess’s place of rest is in our garden, in an area known as the pet’s graveyard, and to mark her place among our other lost furred and feathered friends, I planted an azalea, which flowers in two tones. Tess’s Azalea.

She was a beautiful girl, but don’t just take my word for it … here’s a photo of Tess.

Announcing …

Meet the newest arrival to my family, my grandson, Arlo! ❤

Arlo is three days old now, but of course I couldn’t announce his arrival until his Mummy and Daddy were ready to introduce him to the world.

Me and husband met our newest grandson tonight, and we both agree that he is absolute perfection.

This afternoon, just for fun, my daughters put together a collage of my three grandsons and one granddaughter, with photos taken just after each of them were born. I don’t know if I’m the only one who sees it, but I think these babies have some similar features to each other.

Compared to my announcement, Mount Warning seems like rather a bland topic today, however, I did commit to sharing a photo of the mountain every day. So share, I must.

Poor mountain – on any other day the sunlit, clear blue ranges and mountain would be something to rave about. Today, they pale in comparison to my announcement.

Oh, and tomorrow, I will have an update on my kitchen renovation.

This has been quite a busy week! 🙂
