There was no sign of Mount Warning today, not even a tiny glimpse.
One lonely Butcher Bird sat in the shelter of the back veranda for ages, while the rain pelted down for most of the day.
Even though I told this kookaburra that there was plenty of room on the veranda to share with the Butcher Bird, he insisted the top of the clothes line suited him just fine!
It is normal, and somehow the cane fields seem to survive, even though some have been submerged for days! Most have been harvested now, so I’m guessing there is less plant to damage.
Hahaha … it was a sad photo really, he looked so dismal and so alone. But I just had to share it! I’ve never seen a kookaburra looking so forlorn, yet so comical.
Wow — that’s some rain cloud obscuring all sight of the mountain. The butcher bird looks like he knows how to be patient, and the kookaburra looks absolutely soaked to the skin!

That’s right, Frank, and we ended up having four month’s worth of rain in just a few days.

Wow … hoping people are save and the sugar cane fields make it. Is that normal this time of year?
