They’re such pretty flowers. Unfortunately, only the annual variety is considered suitable to my climate and it’s very short-lived. For a similar effect, I grow Coleonema album, a South African native.
They grow as annuals here as well, and I love them, so thank you for the tip, Kris! I looked up Coleonema album, or Diosma, and apparently it is a flower I could grow here. It doesn’t like to be planted mid-summer – no plant does here because it’s so hot – but I have saved it to my ‘favourites’ list to order later. 🙂
These look like a flower we call “baby’s breath” – I think this may just be the common name for them? I used to have a cat that caused me to have to remove any baby’s breath from any bouquet I ever received, because if I didn’t he would do it for me, then proceed to eat it and vomit it back up!
Isn’t that strange … there must have been something appealing to the taste. But you’d think the cat would realise it didn’t agree with their tummy! And you’re right, it is Baby’s Breath. 🙂
Such a pretty plant! I always associate it with roses. 🙂

So do I, probably because I have seen roses in florists over the years arranged with baby’s breath. ❤

Yes, definitely brings roses to mind but it’s so pretty on its own too.

It’s a lovely contrast, the delicate petals and greenery of Gypsophilia against the solid, thorny stems and lush petals of roses.

It’s lovely, together with roses and all on its own!
