As “life” interrupts my dreams, of old loves and new….

“Cherish your visions and your dreams, as they are the children of your soul; the blueprints of your ultimate achievements.” ~ Napoleon Hill

Really and truly, I must have rocks in my head to think I can consistently blog, on a regular basis, when I have so many unexpected interruption out in the “real world”!

ripples

At times, I do wonder which world is actually my “real world”, after I return to my blog, begin again to visit the blogs of my friends, and feel the warm and inviting sense of friendship and belonging which exists here in the Blogosphere. Do you feel it too, the friendship and caring that exists between the thousands of miles that span the world, when we visit with friends we have yet to meet? It’s the feeling of meeting up again with old friends, friends who mean the world to you, friends who you could not imagine life without, now that you have met.

old boats

For the last few weeks I have been mostly working, although I have managed to fit in some very enjoyable days, hours and moments. Photos have been taken, time has been spent with “offline” friends, I’ve even managed to fit in a weeks holiday….

About three hours drive north of here, at Noosa in Queensland, there is a resort that my family and I have visited for over fifteen years now. I call it my “home away from home” and we have managed a short break there recently. I love spending time in and around Noosa and thought I had explored every single corner of the area, until this visit.

hidden

I fell totally and absolutely in love with a secluded little corner of land, just a few minutes drive from Noosa, which I had never visited before. I didn’t even know this place existed! It is a remote little corner, tucked out-of-the-way of the main roads, with a huge lake and just a few streets lined with cosy little homes. That’s it. No shops. No clubs. No schools. Nothing. Just the lake, with an atmosphere of joy and love and happiness. And promises of  time spent strolling along the water, feeling the gentle breeze dancing across your skin and listening to the water calmly rippling over your feet as you stand beside the shore….

….or sitting beside the shore of the lake in a tiny, fold-up chair, just passing the time of day reading, or drifting along in the water in a little boat, which you find hidden away in among the trees.

Such a beautiful dream, which may one day become a reality.

As I dream of my new-found love, Christmas is approaching, there are puddings to prepare, mince pies to bake and Christmas cakes to ice. Yes, the “real world” is calling me again and I must answer her call….

  1. Your quiet resort seems very peaceful. As you know, I finally found a home where I feel at peace, and I have been dreaming of such a place for years. Maybe life doesn’t interrupt your dreams – maybe it gives you the opportunity to dream. Keep dreaming, Joanne. ❤

  2. Ahhhhh… The second picture, of the lake, looks so serene and blissful, a place where one can find peace and restoration for one’s soul. The feelings you describe resonate with me – so like the way I feel when we get away to Cape Cod… It does seem like we exist in many parallel universes, and I also miss my blogging friends every bit as much as I miss more local friends when away from each world. It’s a blessing having time alone and time together as well, even if the connection is by means of the amazing blogosphere!

    1. My heart and soul sang as I stood beside this lake Barbara! I don’t know what it was about the area, but it spoke to me and has stayed on my mind every since I discovered it. 🙂

  3. Your home away from home looks beautiful, Joanne. I always enjoy it when you return to the blogging world. I feel that the two worlds intermingle these days. It’s precious to have friends like you around the world.

    1. You are a very precious friend to me also Kathy. Isn’t it the best thing ever, to have friends all around the world? I’m not a huge fan of all modern technology, but I’m totally in love with the internet! 🙂

  4. Sounds like a wonderful place, Joanne. I know what you mean about consistently blogging on a regular basis. I find it very difficult myself. I seem to get myself involved in so many projects and I can’t keep up with everything as much as I’d like. That and dealing with health challenges makes life interesting. I haven’t posted on Miracle mama for months now, although I have some posts in mind. I’ll likely make it my new year’s day project. Well, I’m off to catch up on reading your blog posts. 🙂

    1. Oh I know what you mean when you say you become involved in many projects Marianne, I’m the same! There is always something I want to do, a new craft to try out, more family history to research or more blog posts I want to write…the list is never ending! Then “real life” gets in the way, washing, cooking, shopping, working….oh well, I will get to everything one day, and I’m sure you will too. 🙂

    1. Thank you Robin, I just had to share this very special little area, hidden away, that I just happened to find. It is one of those places when all seems right with the world. 🙂

I would like to think that one day we may actually meet, if I were to travel to The States, or you to Australia, but that would involve a very long ‘plane fight…hmm, that sound a tad scary. It may happen one day though. 🙂

  6. I just read through your two last posts, having found my way here … how DID I find my way here ? Via’s Kathy’s blog I think.

I think I would love to live in Australia. I’m just not cut-out for these Nova Scotia winters.

    I’ll be back.

    1. Hello Sybil! However you found your way here, I am glad you made it!! 😀

From the photos I have seen I believe Nova Scotia is a beautiful part of the world and one which I would very much love to visit. I’m sure you would enjoy Australia too, if you could visit here. 🙂

  7. Your pictures and captions are so lovely. Happy I clicked over from Dawn.

We adopted an Aussie on Facebook who is keeping us updated on her holiday on Philip Island. She says the weather goes from scorching to very mild. It’s all apples tho :-D. These pictures came our way a few days ago of your heat wave. Summer Down Under http://www.theatlantic.com/infocus/2013/01/summer-down-under/100437/ .

Looking forward to seeing more of your pictures and hearing Outback tales…maybe I will finally find out where your park the Kangaroos (Our Saucy Aussie says she is NOT telling)

    1. Wow Katy Beth, there are some amazing photos there, also some heart breaking photos as a result of the recent fires in Australia.

I’m afraid I can’t tell you where we park our kangaroos either (it’s an Aussie secret!!) but if you stop by again sometime, you may see a few birds in my garden that you may not have met before! 🙂
