That first photo is gorgeous! Those colours, and that wonderful foliage… What is it? It must be something tropical, but I see you have palm trees in your garden too. Lovely.
Thank you, Cathy. 🙂
That’s a frangipani, which is in full bloom at this time of year. When the weather cools around March to April, the flowers and leaves drop, and the tree is a mass of thick, bare branches. I will take a photo of the whole tree to show you another day, as right now it is covered in flowers and foliage and is really stunning. And you are right, I live in the subtropics on the eastern coast of Australia. 🙂
It’s an unusual combination, even for us! I have another which is mostly white with just a touch of yellow, which is more of a standard frangipani colour. 🙂
Thank you Eliza. 🙂 I have some more frangipani in pots that we brought home from my inlaws house before it was sold, so I’ll be interested to see what colour their flowers are when the plantsare more mature. I might have some more unusual coloured flowers to share in the future.
I’m happy to hear you enjoy my flower photos, Carol. I know how bleak your winters can be. I see the beauty in snow, but I don’t have snow here, as you know, so that’s easy for me to say!
I hope you are settling in at Kat’s place. xx ❤
You’ve transported us once again to another, very lush world, Joanne! Thank you. The colors on that frangipani are almost unreal. Is it deliciously fragrant?
Well, actually, I don’t know! I think frangipani are scented flowers, but they grow so high in the tree that I haven’t noticed! Isn’t that terrible? I’ll have to pick one so I can tell you!

Missing flowers already as we move into winter. A little subtropical beauty feels uplifting on gray cold days like these.

How unusual, the pink and yellow blooms in the first picture — frangipani, so lovely!

I’m gaga over that frangipani! The agapanthus is beautiful, too, and the magpies sharing is so dear. Have a great day, Joanne!

How wonderful to be able to grow frangipani! Love your birds – what are they? A type of magpie?

Spot on, Annette, they are magpies! I believe other countries have birds they call magpies, but they are slightly different to our Australian birds. 🙂

The Frangipani is soooo beautiful! Your photos of flowers in bloom really warm the heart now, since we’re in the season of gray skies.
