Getting my house back in order after the kitchen removation continues, as well as catching up on uni work – I’m already behind and it’s only week two!

Finding new growth in a windblown garden.
Today the temperature is suppose to have reached 26 degrees C. but I don’t think it quite reached that high. Today has felt like autumn is in the air, warmish, but with just a touch of cool air about. And rain. We had a few showers during the day, and during the last day we have had three-and-a-half-inches of rain, according to husband’s rain guage.
Our frangipani trees are losing their leaves early this year. Constant blustery winds and a cooler than usual summer has stripped many flowers off plants and leaves from trees. I noticed a couple of pretty new blooms around the garden today though.
Indoors, more progress is being made on the kitchen renovation. The tilers are here tonight, having double-booked and arriving late in the day. They asked if we minded them staying, and in the interests of having our kitchen finished, of course we agreed they could. Husband has gone out to find some sort of takeaway food for dinner tonight. I’ve been locked away in my office for most of the day, trying to listen to this week’s uni lectures, but not getting far. The benchtop men were here this morning too, finishing of their part of the klitchen.
Have I mentioned I’m looking forward to having my kitchen back?
A Beautiful Sunrise
During this morning’s sunrise, the valley demonstrated all the beauty I know she is capable of. I call the valley “she” as I like to believe that everything natural in the valley is the creation of Mother Nature, in case anyone is wondering.
From the pink tinted sunrise sky to the formless mist lapping against the “shores” of the distant ranges, the entire valley was pure early morning perfection.

And while gossamer waves of mist lapped the “shores” of the tree-covered islands …
… an early visitor arrived to join me in admiring the view, as the “waning gibbous” morning moon looked down on us from the waking sky.
Yesterday, between visits from the men installing our new kitchen benchtops, I restored my office back to it’s pre-new-floor-coverings condition. I also took the opportunity to get rid of anything that I no longer have a use for. There’s plenty of sorting and decluttering happening in this house currently! So tonight I am back at my desktop computer. No more fumbling with tiny keys on my iPhone – yay!
The kitchen renovation is scheduled to be finished by the end of this week. Tomorrow, the plumber arrives to restore water to my kitchen. Meanwhile, Bowie needed to investigate the new kitchen sink, as I knew he would. 😉
How blue is that sky???
Finally, a day arrives when I can share a photo of Mount Warning which isn’t grey skies, mountain, ranges, and valley.
But dare I say, the kitchen renovation is taking more time than ever this week?
This will be my fastest post ever … gotta run.

There’s been brighter days …
The rain continued today, in fact, I awoke to the sound of heavy rain which hardly let up all day. Husband tells me that according to his trusty rain guage we had two inches of rain overnight.
Given we have had another dismal day, therefore I don’t have a beautiful Mount Warning photo, I have looked through more unpublished photos taken in my garden.
The birds continue to visit every day, come rain hail or shine. I haven’t been keeping to my usual routine time-wise when feeding them breakfast recently though, as many mornings are completely filled with being on standby for tradesmen who are renovating my kitchen. The birds are extremely patient creatures though, and wait on the veranda for me.
I had the electrician here all day today, and he switched the power to the house off (obviously) to install my new range cooker, a single wall oven, the microwave, and various power points and lights. I couldn’t go outside into the garden because of the rain, and everything I thought of doing required power … typical.
After I had read through my three new appliance manuals, I decided to read some more of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I’m a late arrival to the Harry Potter series, and I have decided that if I had attempted to read the books when they were released, I would not have fully appreciated them. Reading the books now, however, I find them difficult to put down.
For a break from reading, I went onto Facebook occasionally to chat with my daughters on messenger. A quick scroll through Facebook, however, revealed quite an unusual situation, which has been thoroughly discussed on Facebook throughout the day. Tonight on television, the discussion continues, regarding Facebook’s decision to remove the content of several Australian pages from the website. Many Australians are considering, and have implimented today, alternative options to Facebook.
Again, I am considering the question – do I really want to remain on Facebook?
