Today the weather, and the appearance of the valley, is completely different to yesterday.
This morning started out fine and sunny, with the ranges and mountain looking crystal clear, as if washed clean by yesterday’s sudden heavy shower of rain. I would have taken photos early, after the sun had risen and cleared the night-haze from the valley if I had time, but I had plans to meet my daughter at the shops. We had to have an early start as she needed to take baby Eli home by midday in time for his nap.
By the time I arrived home, the haze had set in again, although we didn’t reach the same high temperatures as yesterday. Later, I watched out for another beautiful sunset, but unfortunately Mother Nature must have been resting tonight. So today’s view over the valley is more subdued than yesterday.
The baby magpie visited again this morning with his/her parents for breakfast. It’s such a skinny, long-legged bird, and the sweetest little thing. ❤
A kookaburra made itself comfortable on the fence this morning and stayed there for quite a while. It seemed to have its feathers fluffed up, and looked so content that after a while I took some meat out to it, even though I had already fed the usual crowd. Usually when a kookaburra is looking for food, they wait in the palm trees and not on the fence so close to the house as this one was. It flew away as soon as I went outside, which was out of character as well. I know that kookaburras are territorial, so I wondered if perhaps this is a bird from another territory. If only birds could talk, it perhaps could have told me!

This is the view we have from the far side of our house, Frank. We had a far more expansive view before our neighbours planted tall trees that blocked a lot of our view.
If we go right down the back to our boundary though, we can see the full expanse of the valley, which is breathtaking on a clear day. 🙂

Tasmania is a beautiful state, but it’s way down south from us. We are about mid-way along the eastern coast, on the border of New South Wales and Queensland. We are only about five minute’s drive from the Pacific Ocean, so I plan on going on a sunrise beach walk one fine morning and taking photos. You have inspired me!

Oh … I pulled the wrong Aussie state out of my hat. Oh well. We haven’t been to your land yet – but it’s on our list. Of course, given the Covid situation, we are stuck! Cheers to you being so close to the beach. (My beach time is a 14-hour drive). Glad to know I caused a creative thought for you. OK – that will cost you a plug in the post. 😉

That’s okay, Frank. I get confused about where U.S. states are too! I know where Florida, California, and New York are, otherwise I have to get out a map!
The Australian borders are closed currently and not predicated to open for some time. Our Covid cases are so low though that more movement is now allowed within the country.
Wow, you live a long way away from the beach. Does that mean your Beach Walk Reflection posts are limited? I hope you have a plan to continue them. Oh, I completely intend naming you as my inspiration for my beach walk! 🙂

Understandable about the need for a map. So, get the map and find Cincinnati, Ohio. We enjoy wintering at the beach. It’s there where most of the walks originate – that is in either notes or initial draft form. Some if all is normal, in March I will return home with another batch of walks to work on.

Yep – some beaches along Lake Erie’s coast to the north … do I relish when I get time on real beaches.

The baby is cute. 🙂 When I left the meat out, it only took the parent magpies half a minute to see it and grab it, so I don’t know what became of my kookaburra visitor.
